Chevrolet Cruze Chevrolet announces 1.7 litre VCDI motor for Cruze

D segmenter Chevy Cruze comes with a 2.0 litre oilburner in India. However, UK car market also has a hatchback version of the popular sedan and GM recently announced a new 1.7 litre diesel motor for this car. This motor will also find a home in the station wagon that is on sale abroad.

The new engine pumps of a healthy output of 130PS-300Nm. The car is being said to be capable of doing the 0-96 kmph in 9.4 seconds with a top whack of about 200 kmph.

The icing on the cake here is that the motor will offer a mileage of around 22.18 kmpl! We don’t remember the last time we heard of a car of this size offering such a nice fuel consumption figure.

This definitely is an opportunity for the blokes at Chevy to bring this motor to our shores with the introduction of the facelifted car.
