‘Ferrari Driving Academy’ goes live on 9th of September Motorsports, News, Slider | Rash a.k.a Rohit Paradkar | September 3, 2010 at 10:38 amWe all love the merchandise that has the prancing horse logo on it – be it sweatshirts, tees, mugs, towels, underwear, condoms, you name it! But you always do expect something more special, something more constructive when you take into account the brand Ferrari. They do have something new in store for you – we are not sure if its special enough, but constructive it is for sure! If you are bored of waiting for the past few decades for Gran Turismo 5 to arrive, then Ferrari has a solution for you that will put you behind the virtual wheel of their F10 Formula 1 car on three iconic tracks – Fiorano, Mugello and the Nürburgring. The simulator uses motion capture techniques to give you a first hand virtual experience of the movement, behavior and feedback of a Formula 1 car. Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Giancarlo Fisichella and Luca Baldisserri are supposedly your partners who will guide you through the simulator.
Called as the ‘Ferrari Driving Academy’, the simulator will be available for download from www.ferrarivirtualacademy.com. But like all things Ferrari, even the app will come at a price. Unlike the whooping cost of their cars, the app will cost a minimal 15 Euros (Rs. 900 approx). Now driving a car on a race track on a well made simulator isn’t all that novel a concept – thanks to titles like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. What can set the ‘Ferrari Driving Academy’ apart is a probable inclusion of a ‘Co-Op’ mode where you get a first hand experience of ‘Team Orders’ along with the rest of the gameplay. What say?
