Hero MotoCorp bikes become dearer
India’s most popular bike manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has bumped up the prices of its products with immediate effect. Rising input costs and excise duties have been cited as the reason for this unfavourable revision in the prices. The bikes will now cost Rs.500 to Rs.1,000 more and we believe that this slight increase might have at least a marginal effect in the sales of bikes. It may be noted that Bajaj recently launched the Discover 100 4G that retails for INR 2000 less than the earlier version of the bike and it will be interesting to see if this development along with an increase in prices of Hero bikes will see bike buyers shifting their choice towards Bajaj.
