News | admin | November 13, 2009 at 12:00 amThe 125cc bikes of the Austrian Marquee KTM, which are expected to soon hit the Indian streets, are being displayed at the currently ongoing EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. These all-new 125cc motorcycles were being developed at KTM’s headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria. Bajaj Auto which has a 32% stake in KTM is expected to launch the bikes in India by 2010.

The new KTMs will prove to be a fresh breed amongst the currently prevailing 125s in the country. Unlike the present bikes of the segment, the new KTM motorcycles will be power packed high-tech machines. The bikes will feature a single cylinder 125cc engine which will produce 15 horses. The engine will be a four valve DOHC (Double Over Head Camshafts) engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The KTM bikes have been engineered for riding pleasure. The bikes, designed by Gerald Kiska will also feature KTM’s usual tubular steel lattice frames, high spec WP suspension component and Brembo brakes.

The KTM-Bajaj 125cc bikes will be displayed at the upcoming Auto Expo in Delhi, in January 2010. The bikes are subject to styling changes, but however, they will borrow the above mentioned engines. The bikes are likely to be released in more than one variant. The motorcycles with its high-end technology will undoubtedly be very much expensive as compared to the present 125s in the country.
