Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Price to be Announced Soon. Official Launch Today

We have been reporting in detail about the eagerly awaited Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. The nation’s largest car maker opened the bookings of the new car a few days ago and the car has generated such a huge response that around 7000 units have already been booked, without the price being out.

The all new Alto 800 will be launched today and the upcoming baby from Maruti is sure to bring many customers to the dealerships.

Design Review:

One look at the car and you are going to have a tough time deciding the ‘inspiration’ for the exterior styling. The car carries a fair bit of details from the i10, A-Star, Alto, Figo and this list threatens to become longer everytime we look at the car.

Starting with the front, we were quick to notice the ‘Figo-ish’ front grill with a huge air dam at the bottom. The resemblance to Figo gets further amplified due to the large-ish front bumper. The similarity is so strong, that we were almost fooled for a second into believing this car to be an evolution of the high selling Ford hatchback. Moving further, the windscreen and the angle at which the A pillars are situated, bring the memories of the Alto. The strong creases on the hood bring some visual relief and help the car not look bland.

In side profile, the wide B pillar is fast to catch attention. Again, the pillar seems to be carried from the AStar. The rear door is very much like that on the i20 and the door handles have been taken from the vast Maruti parts bin. Again, a strong crease just below the beltline and bold wheel arches prevent the car from looking too bland and ordinary.

The rear is where similarity to existing cars can be traced the least. Do not get me wrong, the rear surely has hints of the Korean cars but manages to have quite an air of being genuine to it. The number plate housing is in the rear bumper and it will be interesting to see how well the guys at MSIL manage to deal with the space left on the hatch.

The upcoming car will have good quality plastics and stylish design for the interiors.  The car will offer beige interiors with silver garnishing and the Alto 800 gets its aircon vents, steering wheel and gear knob from the Maruti parts bin. The dashboard is seen having some storage space above the glove box and the electric windows switches have been moved to the centre console.

The car borrows the front seats from the AStar/Alto K10 and are seen draped in stylish fabric upholstery. The car gets fabric inserts on the front door pad. The door pads provide dedicated slots for mounting audio speakers and also have a large map pocket.

The new car seems to be roomier than the current Alto and should give the Hyundai Eon a run for its money.

Maruti Suzuki YE3 Specifications

Powering the all new Maruti Alto 800 is the same motor that does duty in the Alto F8. Maruti has tweaked the engine a fair bit and the motor produces a power output of 47.5bhp which is full 3.5bhp more than the Alto F8. The all new Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 will be available in two variants- Petrol and Petrol+CNG. The Dual fuel variant is expected to be priced around INR25000 higher than the Petrol only variant.

The pricing of the upcoming car will be out in a matter of few hours and safely expect us to update our readers as soon as we possibly can. Stay tuned folks!
