Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG to be Launched Soon

Only yesterday, we reported in detail about the upcoming Honda City CNG. Now, news has emerged that nation’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. too is readying a CNG variant of its popular Alto K10 (1000cc) entry level hatchback. It may be noted that currently, only the Alto F8D (800cc) offers an option of a CNG kit. Rising petrol prices have resulted into a growing preference for diesel cars and carmakers like Honda and Maruti Suzuki, who do not have an oil burner to plonk into their popular vehicles, are facing the heat. Such manufacturers are fast resorting to offering CNG/LPG kits with their cars. The Alto K10 would get the CNG kit in both LXi and VXi trims and safely expect MSIL to charge a premium of Rs 50,000 over the petrol-only variants.
