Mumbai Traffic Police Launches Real Time Traffic Guide

Mumbaikars must be breathing a sigh of relief due to the recent attempt by Mumbai Traffic Police to do away with the traffic congestion that the city is infamous for. The Traffic Police Department at Mumbai has launched a GPS based app for 1700 radio taxis which ply on the city. The new app provides real-time traffic updates to the driver. The Mumbai traffic police website too now gives real-time traffic route updates.

Thanks to a large part of road users now having a mobile internet-enabled device, we feel that these real-time traffic updates can be really useful to make commuting a lot easier in the financial capital of India.

  1. Yatharth… Its real time, not rear time ;).

Also… Why not do a feature on the real time traffic updates which are provided via SMS by the Bangalore Traffic Police? Its very convenient to all road users and has been effective for a year…
