After the phenomenal success of the Hayabusa and respectable sales figures for the Intruder, Suzuki India is all set to introduce two more imports to its line of high performance motorcycles. The much awaited GSX-R1000 and the highly potent Bandit 1250S are the new Suzukis that are hitting the showrooms soon. The ‘Gixxer-Thou’ was long overdue especially considering the fact that its racetack arch rivals, the CBR1000RR Fireblade and the YZF-R1 have been selling in India for quite some time now. And what better timing for the litre-class Gixxer than 2010 – when Yamaha has just unleashed its cross-plane cranked 2010 R1 in India! The 2010 Gixxer 1000 is essentially the same bike as the 2009 albeit with new colours, but exactly what schemes come to India, remains to be seen. The second of the lot is Bandit – a bike made illustrious (alongside the Hayabusa) by the famous Bollywood flick, Dhoom. The bike will be available in India in its 1250cc guise with a quarter fairing that gives it the ’1250S’ tag. Our sources haven’t confirmed however, if the ABS version will be launched or not. Both the Gixxer 1000 and the Bandit 1250S will be launched in Delhi on the 15th of February 2010. The expected ex-showroom price for the GSX-R1000 is Rs. 12.5-lakh and that for the Bandit 1250S is Rs. 9-lakh. More info will be updated as we get it.
