This thread can be used for Mumbai offline talks and planing up rides!

Let us start by a small intro about where we live in Mumbai.

For any ride, whether short or long, we advocate the usage of riding gear. No rider is allowed on weekend rides unless he/she complies with the following

Documents
a. Valid Driving License: MUST have and carry at all times
b. Bike Registration Papers: Original or Attested Photocopy
c. Bike Tax Certificate: Original or Attested Photocopy
d. Bike Insurance: Preferably a comprehensive insurance, personal insurance would be a plus.
e. PUC Certificate: A valid PUC certificate

Safety Gear
a. Helmet: Has to be in good condition and preferably ISI/DOT certified
b. Thick Jacket/Riding Jacket: Must have inbuilt armour or external armour is also allowed
c. Gloves: Must cover vital points like knuckles and wrist. Cut/half gloves not allowed
d. Knee Guards: Either bionic or regular flex type. Should be worn inside trousers if non bionic.
e. Riding Boots/Sports Shoes/Army Boots: Anything that covers the foot well.
For weekly\fortnightly meets wearing gear is optional. However if you are coming on a bike, helmet, and shoes are the bare minimum you should comply with. Wearing more gear hasnt harmed anyone and so do what you think is correct for anything more than the compulsory gear.

hmm.. one doubt should the name of the thread be more communicative ? i mean something like 'the mumbai offline g2g r2g thread' ?

yeah avin.. but what i thought is in all the forums its the same "offline g2g" thread.. thought to break the monotony

Even I stay near Powai - Next to the Gandhingar flyover, to be exact. Am planning to leave @0800 on sunday, pick up a friend near SEEPZ, and then ride to Lonavala.

There are a few other guys coming from Pune too.

Hi I am Anup from Mumbai/Thane.
Been around for a while
@27 i am a Human resource professional working for an MNC. Based out at Thane been riding bikes for quite sometime, not much; but definitely enjoy the touring here and there.
Bikers are mainly categorized based on their liking towards a specific type of biking, some are real good stunters, some really fast bikers, some tourers, some basically commuters..i guess i belong to the commuting background more or less.
Some really good buddies that i have made from my associations with another major biking club.
At present i own a 135cc HH Ambition; previously owned a RE T-bird.

I had planned to buy a bike but would be settling for a small car instead

Some of the rides that i have done in the past

Hampi
Rann of Kutch
Rajasthan
Leh
Sikkim & Bhutan
Kerala
Bangalore
Hydrabad
and almost all places in Maharashtra except Nagpur (Eastern Maharashtra)

I wish i am welcomed by all of you and i hope to participate in helping this new community grow better

@avin: "Utter Mumbai" seems awkward indeed! we can change the name to "official mumbai meet thread" or we can create a sub-folder like "Motoroids City clubs" and inside it Mumbai just a thought!

Hey Razor blades.. i am a little old time motorcycle Rider.... I ride yezdi 250cc and Jawa 350 Twin Sports.... And Even i dont shy away from my Scooter... !! ....
