I think it is Fabulous. Although whats the Price, and the quintessential Question "Kitna Deti Hai???"
:)

Where did you get this monster from??? if you can dish out the model number, maybe i can scope it out too.

The limitations in this one for its price,

its not a sandycore processor (2nd gen) which is the latest!
its a very old graphic card and its only 512!
does not have blue ray
900p hd display is good :)

my suggestion, if you are not bent on buying a sony get a dell xps!

check this page for deals and coupons

http://www.techbarga...earch.cfm/0_3_1

I wanted to get a dell XPS 17 with 3D, but ran out of time.. these guys take like 25-30 days to build and ship the laptop and i am coming back to mumbai in another 22 days so could not buy it! :(

buddy its sandy bridge not sandycore.. its an Accelerated Processing Unit(APU which is a combination of CPU+GPU)
and if you ask me i would rather go in for a normal CPU then a APU..

i will get better clock speeds there as well as more cache(although i was hoping that i could get AMD fusion, which is similar to sandy bridge but better according to me:D).. having a seperate CPU and GPU is better i.e. atleast for now as the APU still has a long way to go.. :(

and the laptop there is totally customizable(as you can see) i just gave the base model..
and ya i am inclined towards sony, have seen many other branded laptops crumble just couple of months after their warranty was over..:(

^^^^^
that's not bad.. people actually don't know one fact that they may have a good config system but there are no applications that make use of it..
nor is there an OS that makes use of the full potential.. Windows7 barely makes use of 2 cores properly and only 64bit OS can address just 4GB ram..
its like having a veyron and putting in normal fuel and trying to rip it on Indian roads..
so that's not a bad specd machine after all..

people tend to think that the more the number of cores/threads/clock cycles the better, its true but to very less extend as the hardware has made a giant leap and software is still crawling.. :(

^^True man ! :( rightly put.

The moment you put on a game or open a video to edit thats when you really want some core's backing you up :(

well then again you dont need that much as well..
my current pc config is AMD phenom X2(dual core) 2GB ram..
and i am currently playing crysis2.. a game that literally cries for specs..
mine's running fine most of the time(with minimalistic settings ofcourse)
it would do wonders if it jus had another 2GB ram and a discerete graphics..

people tend to use up settings they don't actually need i.e. higher res, brightness and some other stupid settings..
if you come to see you don't actually need them.. human eyes(just like human ears) have a natural defect.. that is they cannot make out a difference after a certain point ex: a song has a bit rate of 128kbps as well as 384kbps.. but we hear the same thing..
same thing about eyes.. nothing above 24fps will make sense and nor will higher res..

I know what an APU is.. my mistake on the sandycore, actually there was a biker name sandycorebiker, i guess i just cant forget him for some reason ;)

These days graphic cards have become the main processing unit when compared to a super fast processor like i7.. so even with a core2duo with a better GPU card we can play most of the games even crysis, but only for now :)

try editing HD videos in core2duo and in a system which has i7, you will know the difference :(

ya that's there but there are actually very less people who do video editing..
everyone tries to spec their system just for games..

an year or so back i had seen a guy do a project for railway worth 2lakhs just with an p3 processor..
he did not have any intentions to upgrade his system.. so this proves that one does not really need a system that fast.. unless he is a professional video editor..
