just in the name of seeing how high the price of an alienware area51 alx goes i bumped up all the available options on dell site and here's the number i got.. $14,229.80 that's roughly 6.4lk rupees.. :P that's the price of a fully loaded hatch.. :D
here's the link..
http://configure.us....ware-area51-alx
i hope you guys can see it..

and you don't just spend 6.4lk to get it, you have to spend 6.4lk more to maintain and run it..
because if i aint wrong then this baby comes with a 1250Watt SMPS..our normal desktop's have 400Watt one's..

although it has some compatiblity issue's.. i might have selected too many cards most probably but that would not drop the price by much because i am feeling i must have missed a thing or two somewhere..
and at this specs it has parachute's as well.. :P
so can anyone here gift this to me..?? as well as the same amount every year to run it.. :P

^^^^
well just now saw that you people cannot see it.. i.e. actual specs and price..
so if you guys have the time and ready to put in the effort then you can give it a try..
btw the specs that i got was

intel i7-990x 4Ghz factory overclocked
12GB Triple Channel 1600MHz DDR3
Dual 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580- SLI Enabled
512GB Raid 0 (2x 256GB Samsung Solid State HDDs)
additional HDD 2TB RAID 1 (2x2TB SATA-II, 7,200 RPM, 32MB Cache HDDs)

Hey please put up some pictures. Really need to know why these things cost so much. Also, are they sufficiently future proof - especially in the wake of fast changing graphic card and processor specifications required to run high end 3D games?

yes its future proof.. its completely upgradable from processor to hdd to graphics card to a 3D screen.. its more like a desktop (weight too 9 pounds) :P

Does it make sense to have a SMALL (read small display) laptop and full size keyboard + large screen where it is most likely to be used?

Just asking - I don't use one and as I have desktops at home and at the workplace, did not feel the need for one. For practical use on the road (I guess I'd look for good internet, reasonable storage, firewire port to download a days video recording fast and absolutely NO games) - how would a tablet compare to a full fledged laptop?

Well it is always a better sense to have a small display laptop and a full sized screen where needed.. It saves a whole lot of weight and more importantly battery..
If you ask me there was NEVER and there will NEVER be a replacement to Desktop..
And even today tablets are still a show off, you cant expect productivity.. Instead of having a powerful laptop go in for a netbook.. Acer Aspire is a good one..
