This has been going on in my mind for a while now but could not put it into action.
I know of a Blind Hostel - housing about 12 college going kids in Delhi. I have visited them and had a good time talking to the kids there and getting to know how this organization has helped several visually impaired students from across the country find good careers.
I am thinking that we get together and ride till there hostel, carry some food with us or something. I asked the founder of the that NGO if the students can ride pillion and he said that they easily can. I think we can take them for a small ride to an eating joint and treat them to a lunch.
While this would be a one time activity, I hope this connects some of us the organisation. They sometimes need help with tuition in certain subjects. If someone could voluteer to tutor them on their subject of expertise, it would be great. Unfortunately, none of the students at the moment are science or engineering students, where I could've been of some help. However I am sure there are some among us who would know Economics, history, geograhy and other subjects which these students study.
I am thinking of keeping this in first week on May on a SUnday.
Please spread the word. More the merrier.
