somebody call ACP Pradyuman and tell him to investigate if Kawasaki is smuggling gold or cocaine via Thailand into India hidden inside those fairings and speedometers. Or is this some convoluted strategy of Kawasaki to make you buy the 650 instead ..

No, it's bajaj's very clear strategy to keep you from buying Kawa as far as possible.

Bajaj sells it's bikes under the Kawa name abroad, and has to provide reciprocal access to the Indian market. It has no stakes in Kawa. It is important for them to let Kawa know that India is not a good market for the green bikes, and what better way than this kind of mindless pricing?

Bajaj would rather sell you it's own bikes and  bikes from a company it has 47% stake in. Now one begins to understand the pricing.

Doc then why is the 650 priced lower then hot cake..?? i.e. its priced too good for an 650..
They could have had the baby green i.e.250 priced way less but still over twice the cost when compared to any offering from BAL itself.. lets say they priced it somewhere like 2.2lk and it will still mean that one can can 2 of BAL's flagship offering's and still have money to spare..
They priced the duke pretty well but not with the cost cutting due to omitting fi means that p200 will be around a lakh which will divert many Indians from the duke, although hardcore fans will still go for it but they will still they will spoil the duke party to some extent..

The 250 was a sales disaster no matter what Bajaj claim.

Bajaj had to sell a certain number of 650s to stay profitable and they could not afford to cross the psychological 5L figure. Hence the lower price, as they knew that if any competitor brought in a 600 at 6 odd plus (due to duties) the Kawa would still beat it on price alone - and they would still manage to sell all the units. The 5L bike market is not very big.

Most of the people reporting 0-100 on the CBR as 10 seconds which I seriously had doubts about....managed to try it out myself:

You should have tried taking the Snapshot via Picasa software. Much better output from there..
