Yes it is! Didnt you take the test ride (though it feels horribly short geared)

Yes I did. Being a test ride bike, I thought it might be misused. I did notice the short gearing! Tried to move from standstill in sixth gear with some clutch/acc help, but it did move easily with a pillion on board!

P.S: Looks like there are 65 bookings in Chennai so far. Any idea when they are going to increase the price :P

The exhaust is really loud and the engine revs like a maxmax.

Interesting 2 different gloves ? . Good to see riding gear even inside the showroom floor :D

@ Arn , did you test ride the bike ?, your take on it ?

Its taking ages for blore to get a test ride bike . :frusty:

No test ride. Not even seen it in the flesh. Sounds fun from what I hear but.... not as versatile as the CBR or even the 220.

For instance - the position of the grab  rails - only if positioned behind or at mid thigh will they help the pillion resist braking /acceleration forces - this is spot on in the exact wrong place.

Strictly for town running or short trips out only (W/O pillion only), it would appear from first glance.

@NFS: They are same gloves :D Well I hopped off my CBR and jumped onto the bike...didnt feel like removing the gear, it was a 5 min stint anyways. But the riding gear on did help, people gave side when I went near the bike to get on ;) Well unfortunately it was the very first day hence no test rides. Lovely bike....the rush of the revs is amazing, quality wise very well put together bike compared to the CBR which is slightly over the place. Very eager to see a proper road test by actual riders!

Took a SHORT test ride with pillion .Blore .

Bike feels light .
Did not feel that there was a pillion at back .
accelaration is good .
Very short gearing .Did not like this .
Engine felt very rough .
Horrible mirrors .
Horrible Hand grips .
Bike did not slot into neutral easily (just like pulsar DNA ) .
Gear and rear brake levers are very small .
Footpegs looks cheap ,needs more cushioning .
Switch controls are direct lift from pulsar line up .Needed to be much more premium stuff .

Read on TeamBHP from the owner that the 1st 100 bikes are a test bench and the owners are being called up for problems and fixes regularly. A team of engineers is specially deputed for this purpose.

The thing getting modified is the chain roller rubber guide. The chains bouncing off and making khat khat noise. Also the front shocks are giving noise, so they may get modified too.

So my decision as to not to buy from the 1st lot is a good one after all :)

Hmm, so even with this price range and branding , anything BAL still needs a bit of caveat emptor.
In the meantime, the CBR250R seems to be getting somewhat better QC.

To misquote a cliched quote : The rider doens'nt choose the steed, the steed chooses the rider.

I haven't seen the KTM in person, let aside ride one, but the KTM doesn't speak to me, so to speak. I wonder if a long term ownership perspective changes the opinion of those right now enamoured by the baby Duke. But no mistaking one thing - this bike is different !
