Better padded seat, with channel to allow some ventilation under the butt.

Made using medium density (recycled sheet) about 1" thick, topped with strips of low density (soft ) foam about 1" thick. The foam pics were taken before final finishing and shaping. After using it, a small wedge was cut out of the medium density foam right at the end to improve the feel when sitting right back. The sightly increased width in front means that even if you slide slightly in front, the seat is supportive.

The straps off centre on the rider seat may be removed in some time (I don't think they are doing their job of defining the ventilation groove too well)

Pictures.

Pretty much any padding is better than OEM for distance running. For short trips OEM is just about OK

Thats a nice mod doc however does this affect riding position? Since already a little leaned over (without seat mod) and with this extra padding it would mean reaching those clip-ons would require a bit more extra lean? Please let me know. This would help me in future.

For the first time, I long for that seat and don't care much about the M'cycle at the moment.

The dug up roads on a commuter M'cycle with wafer thin seats is hurting :P still. And I have to commute this way for the next 15 days at the minimum.

Thanks to your DIY, shall try something on the commuter.

The bike does not define you, but the actions you perform while on the bike do.

Yes, there is a very negligible increase in lean. Not a biggie, you'll be ok.

Funny enough, many people don't consider it a mod! Had a tough time keeping my patience with the comments on the homepage
