Nope... It is not April 1st and this is not a prank.

In the hooplah of the Frankfurt Auto Show, most of the auto press has overlooked that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is actually one company now.

Habitually, we have been referring to Jaguar and Land Rover as a single entity since some time. It all started when Ford united the two marques under a single automaker and were subsequently sold to TATA Motors as a single package.
The two brands were actually independent companies with their own individual Production, Design and R&D facilities.
As part of their attempt to turn around the British brands, the TATAs have gone ahead and merged them into a single company. It seems like the TATAs would merge the operations of the individual brands.
The day doesn't seem far away, when the same facility will produce the Range Rover Evoque and the Jaguar XF. Probably design studios and R&D teams would be merged.
But one hopes they do not mutate one's DNA with the other. Can't even imagine the alien-esque child such a mutation would produce.
