Don't get me wrong, but you have to decide whether it is a time bound ride to get to the destination or one where time is not a constraint and you can stop wherever you feel like. You can either ride, or enjoy scenery. Both does not work out properly

GQ type roads are not about scenery - they help cut your travel time so that you can spend more time with the scenery later. If Belgaum is your final destination, and you take NH4, it will probably give you a whole extra day to loaf around thereabouts, simply exploring. (and enjoying scenery)

doc i am more interested in the  scenery along the ride  as well as fun of riding so i chose th e Mahabaleshwar-Sawantwadi road.. GQ wont get me either of them..
I have no idea about the road nor the traffic conditions of that road so i asked, which till now seems like possible but i wont be able to enjoy the ride as heavy traffic..
if it was just reaching home, i would not have even bothered about it..

Well heading home isn't much of a problem from there, there is atleast 200m road (or i should say no road as there was a huge eriosion which was piled up over 10's of feet couple of years back, although the rocks and mud have been cleared the road for that part is still something that looks right out of ladakh..) other then that no issue's..



If it was NH4 itself then i would have not asked the question in the first place..

A1- Those 30-40kms are very easily manageble, and you can do speeds of upto 50-70kmph.. you might have to weave and lean on a straight raod too.. although if i am not mistaken, the roads may have been repaired by now. coz there is an annual meet of police at the fort there. i have gone thru there twice when Mama-lok are riding triple-seat, with scarfs for helmets, and they were not bothered at anyone resembling an alien (me), and didnt stop anyone.

A2- Thoose Hurdles are in no way a speed deterent.. just use common caution while passing populated areas, and you can pass thru NH17 at 100+kmph. no sweat.. Just dont forget to keep your headlight ON. be it day or night. a lit headlight gets you a lot of attention, and usually cars move aside (hoping against hope ) and people can usually spot you from far off, either in the rear-view-mirror, or while oncoming.

Well my dad doesn't like junk food   but he likes chicken tangdi or chicken chilli..
+ dad is in Belgaum now tell me how do we send delicacies over the phone..?? or should i scan and mail it so that dad can print it..??
