Engine options will range from a 1L turbo petrol to the 1.5L diesel (in the Fiesta). Since it is being built off the Fiesta platform, sharing of components could keep costs (and hence price) on the lower side.
Methinks the various variants could range from Rs. 8L till Rs. 12L

(Not sure how many private buyers would like the sliding rear doors though)
Would most likely use the same engines as on the Sunny (probably with a different state of tune)

and the MINI Countryman

The MINI press conference is to begin at 5pm. More details should be available then.
Some details I was able to skim from an interview of Benjamin Nagel, Head of MINI in India
"They would start by opening 3 MINI dealers in India, will expand it to 9 by 2013."
"BMW Financial Services will offer loans to MINI buyers"
Skimming some quotes from various interviews of Thierry Poirat, VP of their local unit.

"Will begin India assembly of the 508 sedan from 2014"
"They target to have dealerships in 15 Indian cities by 2014"
"Haven't yet decided on which models to be imported in 2013"

Not bad at all!
A general caution: Journalists are calling every model/variant shown/unveiled as a launch. A rule of thumb I go by, if there is no pricing (mentioned by the company) it hasn't been launched yet.

Ironically the ONLY major upgrade is the Hero Passion X which has a completely new engine (as compared to the previous forward slopping one) and may be the new UCE mill on the Tbird!
And ONE fresh launch from Honda for the CBR150r
