Joel comes up with 2 big bore kits for probably Honda's most sold engine in the country..
one of 160cc and another of 180cc..

Bomb proof reliability and brilliant refinement is what the Honda Unicorn’s 150cc engine is well known for. When it comes to power
delivery though, the mild state of tune that this engine is makes the enthusiast crave for more pep delivered more sharply. Honda did deliver more pep and revvability when it came up with the Dazzler, a motorcycle that ran the same 150cc four stroker as the Unicorn, but with a high lift cam to help matters get frisky. The same state of tune is what two other Hero MotoCorp motorcycles, the CBZ X-Treme and the Hunk come with while the Achiever retains the Unicorn’s state of tune.

Moving on a buying a bigger engined motorcycle for more power is an option that is always open but many riders have a bunch of memories associated with their rides, more so 150cc motorcycles as these bikes often are the first ones that many riders begin with. More power and performance is just a call or email away as RaceConcepts, a tuning firm based out of Bangalore and run by a well known tuner, Joel Joseph, has come up with its latest range of hop up parts for the whole Honda 150cc range. From the Unicorn to the just launched Impulse, these parts will work with the 150cc engine.
RaceConcepts now offers 160cc and 180cc big bore kits for the Honda Unicorn, the Dazzler, the Hero MotoCorp Achiever, the CBZ X-treme, the Hunk and the Impulse. The big bore kits will deliver a couple of ponies extra apart from completely transforming the character of the mild Honda engine to something that is much more eager to rev to its limit and delight the rider. While it is true that the Honda 150cc engine is very similar to the CRF150, and that there is a wide variety of hop up kits available across the world, RaceConcepts undercuts the kits with a high value Indian pricing along with customer service thrown in.

Over a period of time, you can expect the 150cc Honda engine to get free flow exhausts, in keeping with RaceConcepts’ tradition of offering closely matched tuned exhausts, valve jobs and head ports clean up work to make best use of the big bore kits. While Dyno figures are awaited at the moment, RaceConcepts has made a name for itself with reliable performance builds over a period of a last couple of year thereby bolstering their reputation. You can check out a video of the acceleration of a Dazzler with the RaceConcepts 160cc big bore kit here. To buy one of these kits, you can contact RaceConcepts through email on joel(at)raceconcepts.in or call them on +91-90607 22389.
Last year I personally had contacted the guy some year back asking anything for my bike he said that he had the kit for old cbz as the bike was built on a much tougher platform while the latest bikes are more of light weight performance and could not handle extra power was what he said i guess he really worked his way seeing that ours is a really sold engine.. so i know many would not go for the kit but how many here do wish to..?? I am one but in a bit of a dilemma now,, :(

I wish if the actual figures and costs could be displayed. Nothing to keep it like a secret. For example Coe Show makes big bore kits for the CRF150 and the CRF230 and display all the specs and price.

^^
well you do have a point, people may think about it if the power and torque curves were shown.. and the price too, and here the main part is that there is still no FFE from them, I ain't a genius but making it an 180 would require it to throw out more then usual..

I know a few people who are using his kits and are very happy... But Alankar recently had a very horrific experience with his engine getting ceased 2 times... He spent close to 60K and his bike is back to stock... hehe...

And yea not to mention the 6 month wait... :P

Well, I guess I will experiment with the big bore (180) kit once I have the CBR250 for daily usage and touring. Anyone anywhere heard of folks who are using this package on their Honda 150s?

Cheers,
Shamik
