Nav, those bikes are built for terrains like that and are ridden by people who know to fix most stuff. Apna LP to LP hain last I heard about his bike was he totalled it by forgetting to put oil in the bike

@Rahulbeta: I post these pictures because offroading for me means this. If I have to go on dry grounds...any decent 150cc bike is enough. Of course my level of offroading would be much lower than what Navpaaji has done i.e.Raid de Himalaya. Or best would be get a used ZMA- strip all the premium quality plastics- stiffen up the suspensions and u are ready to go anywhere without worry. I doubt if the total cost will cross 75k

All Bikes I kept have been an excellent condition.

See I am not Buying KTM to only do a Rally,I am saying I may want to do it with KTM,  Main Purpose is City Riding, and that too Riding it Fast, Jumping divider's, Stunting, :-p , I was really not happy with the CBR, as far as it is built, Had a great discussion after a ride with OLD FOX, if someone may know, He had it absolutely the same views, I dont want to Phodu-fy the CBR, It sure was a let down for me.

Then I guess those proper offroaders (KTM's, Husky's, etc) will be out of your shopping list. As they won't be easy to fix nor can be fixed any where.

@LP: Based on what my friend felt while using his KTM over bad road, just keep an eye on the rear suspension. You might want to stiffen it a bit, if set to too soft from showroom.

IMPULSE is a good option.

@Satyen: Someone knowing how to fix a bike(not a requirement to own or ride proper off-roaders) is different than "easier to fix".

@Deepak: Why you think most of the Indian bike's in Raid are souped up ZMA's?

@LP: If you plan to jump speed breakers and all, I'm not sure how good KTM or CBR would be but two bikes that I have ridden and are best suited for such riding are Impulse and Bullet(just hoping mentioning this name won't start another mini discussion). ;-)
Good luck for Sjoba, I was so tempted to take part this year but neither am I ready (the broken toe nail hasn't fully grown and it still pains when put pressure & haven't spend any time in doing any practise) nor is the bike(ZMA) fully ready for another hard riding off the road.

,I am kidding, but by that I meant in the Delhi's bad traffic, we are riding on the footpath or pavement for 5-6kms in a day in a travel of 15kms

Why dont you get your pedicures done by a specialist

And @LP.. If you wanna be jumping Road Dividers, and Stuff, i suggest you go for a Trail Bike.. and just make the seat adjustable..
