Finally got my second service done from Vihaan Honda (Thane) and this time it was a fantastic job. I had escalated the matter by email to Honda and to the Workshop Manager Mr. Bobby after a checkup service on the problems I was facing i.e. harder gear shifts, coneset issues etc.. He had called me after my email and a call from Honda to him and stated that he would personally look into the issues I was facing. He also came to meet me personally when I went to take delivery of my friend Amit's tricolour CBR and again said that he will ensure that all my issues are resolved when I drop in for second service. His words sounded very comforting, but I was still wondering if the issues would really be taken care off.

Dropped the bike day before yesterday early morning and since Mr. Bobby and the Technician Abdul hadn't come, I put in a word on mail that my bike was in for service with so and so issues. Got a call again from him and he assured once again that this time they will see that each and every issue is addressed and would be checked one at a time. Even Abdul spoke to me and cross-checked about the issues that I had conveyed to Mr. Bobby. He told me not to worry and he will make sure he will sort out all the issues before he gives the bike to me. But they said it would take 2 days, which I was fine with. My colleague Alkesh was happy to lend his P220 to me for commuting till then.

Collected the bike today with great delight. The conesets were replaced (free of cost) and the old conesets were handed over to me. Took a long test run and it felt like the bike had shed half its weight. It was absolutely PERRRFECT! Throttle play was adjusted and the acceleration felt very crisp. Clutch has become super light and the engine felt the best it has till date....very peppy and smooth. The clunkiness from 1st to 2nd to 1st gearshifts have gone and a light dab is enough to slot it well- I can now say its a Honda gearbox. Earlier I had put a sarcastic remark in my mail to Honda that Bajaj makes better gearboxes than you people ;) Replaced the old steering bolt with that of the new CBR (all steel). Brake fluid was topped up.

All in all very very happy...wish I could ride the bike for 100 kms, unfortunately the distance was only 25 kms, but enjoyed it. The engine felt so eager to be revved, made a quick dash to 140 on EEH. Wish it stays like this forever :) And moreover I feel every CBR owner deserves similar type of service without any escalation to Honda headquarters. As for the way they have gone about the servicing this time- Vihaan Honda is 101% recommended for your CBR and in the hands of Abdul the technician.

Additionally, Abdul took me on a short tour of the workshop. Nice to see the CBR being service in a enclosed glass bay with both the bike and the technicians being pampered with an air conditioner inside- rest of the workshop slugs out in the heat. Even the billing department sits under a fan ;) Took a first round look of a CBR150R being parked in isolation. Looks near identical to the 250R at the front half...was fuming with jealousy seeing a perimeter frame on the 150. The clips-ons are gloss finish and look better, at least in comparison to the first and second batch CBRs. Rear half of the bike looks small- the rear swingarm is the same as one on the 250 (at least looks like), even the tank looks same but the rear mounting is different than the 250. Brakes are Nissin brand and monoshock is a direct bolt-on to the swingarm (no-linkages). The exhaust is way too small- at first I thought it was flicked from the 100cc twister. Revved the bike and it is very smooth in comparison to the 250- got a smoother bassy exhaust note and it revs an additional 1k than the 250 to the redline.

On the opinion part (personal though), at the price at which it comes- I would still put down the money on the R15 (it just feels so premium), or pay extra and get a Duke or best buy the NS and spend rest of the money on riding gear. This bike has to be a performer and a lot better one...or else it'll be a hard sale for Honda.

A small bunch of my biking memories
