Might not be great info, but might turn out to be useful for someone who is not aware. First of all thanks to Dr. Arnob Gupta for the suggestion and information of this topic.

During my 3rd and final free service of the CBR, the service centre called up and mentioned that the rear disc pads need replacement. Got a shock on hearing the price as 1600 bucks. Told them don't change- I'll do it later. Called up Doc and asked for an option (he always has one). He suggested that I purchase the P220 DTSi Bybre disc pads which are a straight fit and cost approx 200 bucks.

One spare parts seller wasn't willing to give without looking at the sample as there are two different designs that come for the P220. Finally got it changed at another spares shop whose owner knew what I wanted. In fact even he didn't know the Pulsar pads fits the CBR.

Got it for 200 bucks and 40 bucks labour- its so easy to replace the pads, even one can do it at home Bought a can of Motul chain cleaner and chain lube and the bill came to 1230/-. I would have ended paying the ASC 1600 instead of having bought all this with that money! Thanks to Doc again.

BTW here is the pic (all ghisaaod) of the disc pads and the part number is DK151085-1 just in case anyone needs to change and doesn't have the sample with him.

How is the rear brake now? does it bite hard to lock the wheel? I am talking about the exp we had on Shahpur ghat when the rear break locked the wheel and it went side ways on the wet road

The 220 pads feel no different than the CBR pads. They have good bite. The sideways movement has more to do with the tyres and the braking technique. You will get used to in some time

You mean like the Melamine (Microwave Safe) Stuff... Yup they are Cheap....
On a more Serious Note, Dont the Ceramic Brakes Cost a Bomb. cuz they are mostly used only in the F1, Motogp, and the McLarens, Buggatis, Audis, Mercs, BMWs of the World.. .

Unfortunately had to buy the front pads as OEM i.e. 825 bucks. They are much bigger in size than the usual brake pads- but once I opened the packet they looked worth. Quality looks great!

Yes, you can ceramic coat them. No braking effect until the pads heat up, though. Great for racetracks where repeated hard braking is a regular feature. Not so great if you have to brake pulling out of your compound
