To test the bikes as their "beta testers" did Bajaj would have had to spend BIG money to hire such people AND pay for the fuel too. They got this free. And the same people who have done this (free, and at the risk of personal inconvenience, possibly spoiling a holiday, and paying for the fuel themselves) seem to be following some kind of gag order for the "privilege" of being unpaid beta testers, and getting to use the new bike FOC.
The reasons why "beta testers" aren't saying much is:
- The bike wasn't a production model. So the issues found in the bike might not appear in production version. (The reason for doing this testing).
- Any one who has ever done any kind of "closed" testing, will know the reason for not speaking about the bike in open. Its got nothing about gag orders OR "getting something PHOKAT again in future".

I think it was the other way round regarding "issues" with the test mules.
The beta testers spoke about the "smooth engine" (really, most of them have, so much for not speaking about the bike). Turns out the production models/models offered for test rides are not so smooth, at least when tested by people who have NO reason to be biased :)

So, who should one believe?

That is just so wrong, to speak about a bike that might not have made to production with the same specs.
By speaking good/bad about a bike, that is not guaranteed to go under production in the same specs is misleading people. The reason, why I am looking for a decent test ride on a production bike.

Arn: I wouldnt ever lie about the feedback. Be it Bajaj or any other manufacturer!!! Phokat or not!!

Nav himself was a tester for the product for a long long time!
I nhindsight, I cant be called a beta tester either..... I was given a bike with an assurance that the bikes given to us were rebuilt and matched the production standards. So may be a RTM tester :P

I had a go on the bike given to PTR for the test, this was a bike used\abused by media for a while and its performance is shockingly different!!! My bike too has had its share of abuse, and yet I would stick to my claim that the performance on the bike given to me was hassle free unlike the older pulsar, and especially unlike the
My speculation was that the foundation bolt was loose and so the vibrations were transfered to the side panel, but apparently that hasnt changed post the "servicing" .. so your guess is as good as mine.
Is it a batch issue? Is it just lethargic service? or Am I bluffing in hopes for getting a new bike? Time will tell!
