Our very own and beloved Dr. Arnob Gupta has made it into the Limca Book of Records once again- this time for being "The fastest on the Golden Quadrilateral (Solo). Saying once again coz he already holds a record for the East-West expedition scaling the two ends of the country on his CBZ way back in 2004.

Here's a snapshot of the record:

PS: The above post is posted by Deepak from Mumbai, I'm just sharing it here.

I say, time to celebrate.

he he.. but sitting on a vibeRTR is different :P

he has done 5844 kms in less than 5 days!

he must have become Bootstrap Bill in Pirates of the Caribbean.. (I am a part of the bike) :D this feat is next to impossible on indian roads , wherein you cant afford to take a single second to look off the road while riding..

would love to hear the experiences from the doc himself! :P

besides i believe he is the first one in India to be awarded IBA rider.

Thanks fellas.

It's not that terribly difficult, so long as you follow a few guidelines...

  • Try not to fall off the seat - keeping awake helps
  • Avoid coming to overly abrupt halts - 100 to 0 kph in less than a second - bad for health.
  • Use some commonsense (very minute amount actually) in planning out your trip  - trying to do it in winter or monsoon is Ok only if you actually enjoy riding at -5 C thru the fog in the winter, or splashing through potholes of unspecified depth in torrential rain.
  • Use a familiar bike with a comfortable seat and comfortable clothes, not new stuff /bikes just because somebody provided them free (as in big favour) at the last moment.
  • Practise documenting stops before the trip!

This is not a very difficult record to break - a huge amount of time was wasted, anybody planning things efficiently should do it sooner or later. Sooner, I think.
