One of a very close associate purchased a Bajaj Pulsar 180DTSi from Bagga Links, New Delhi and I was accompanying him. I was horrified to see the way the Agency was minting money by adopting all sorts of cheap tactics. Despite speaking to the Manager there, I was not satisfied with the kind of lame examples and explanations he gave, for which I wrote a mail to the Customer Support. And following is the order in which the concern was dealt with:

Letter Written on 19th Feb, 2010

Dear Sir,
It gives me great displeasure to write this mail to you. One of my very close associate recently purchased a Pulsar 180 DTSi from one of the dealers in Delhi- M/s Bagga Link and I accompanied him for this ordeal.
The way the dealership is performing is bringing disgrace to the entire fraternity of Two Wheelers Dealership. And I am saying this because I have worked in the capacity of General Manager with one of the Dealerships.I fail to figure out the reason why is the dealership charging for things without giving us the receipts.
I am attaching the scanned copy of the Proforma Invoice of the dealership in which they have charged Rs. 405.00 towards LOG CHARGES. and Rs. 475.00 towards Affidavit, No. Plates, Attestation etc.
May I please ask for the explanation of the charges listed above, for I don?t see a reason why the Logistic charges should be borne by the customer and not by the dealership? Further, the charges towards No. Plate & Attestation is ridiculous as it is simply a sheer case of malpractice wherein all the required documents were handed over at the time of purchase. One more thing worth mentioning is the unavailability of ex.showroom prices on your website which is in turn promoting malpractice like the one followed by Bagga Link.
I expect to hear from you in this regard sooner than soon.

In response to this, I received the following mail on 21st Feb,2010

Dear Sir,
We are in receipt of your mail and noted the contents. We would request you to provide few details mentioned below so that our Service Team would get in touch with you.
Registration No. - NA
With Warm Regards
Customer Care Cell

I wrote the following on 22nd Feb,2010

Can you please elaborate on the following:
What Registration Number are we talking about here?
Regards

Then, I got this as an answer on 23rd Feb,2010

Dear Sir
We are in reciept of your mail and noted the contents. We would request you to provide few details mentioned below so that our Service Team would get in touch with you.
Registration No. - Nos mention on nos plate.
With Warm Regards
Customer Care Cell

I wrote them back on 24th Feb, 2010 , telling them about the registration Number of the bike and then on 6th March, I got this mail:

Dear Sir/ Madam,
This is with reference to your request registered as Customer Reference Number 'CR-20662. '
We understand your request is attended to your satisfaction and hope you are happy with our service.
For any further assistance please call us at 1800 233 2453 (Toll Free) or send an email at customerservice@bajajauto.co.in.
Assuring you the best service at all times.
With warm regards,
Customer Care Cell
Bajaj Auto Limited

Finally, I wrote to them on 11th March the following mail but despite numerous phone calls too, haven?t heard from them.

Now how amazing this is? I write a complaint and without getting a solution, I am told that the issue is resolved. Is everything so automatic ?
No sweat, let me see how this thing has to be solved. Forgot to tell you, will be sending a copy of this mail to all the auto Magazines and to the consumer forums too.
Regards
Rohit Nagpal

Just felt like informing my mates about the high-handedness of Bajaj Auto!

Wow.. the customer did not even know how his problem got solved and bajaj managed to do it! WTH!

I like TVS in this regard ;)

Isn't there any customer care no. for bajaj dcs?

Just curious, did you try "1800 233 2453" mentioned on the website? ask for a supervisor or someone and scream at him!

Razor, I spoke numerous times on the customer care too, but.....I wonder, why have they formed a cell that is called Customer Care Cell whereas it should be a Customer Torture Cell.

Service back up with Bajaj has been worse ever since I knew. I sold of my Pulsar 150 DTSi just because of the fact that the people at service center were too less bothered too attend to the woes. And now I see that even after more than 2 years, Bajaj hasn't improved.

People at Bajaj suck big time. Duh!!

Satyen, this is just so funny to hear that, and I am sure Bajaj believes in the same.

Been there, Done that :)

I had problems with my service center, Where after just 1000 km after a servicing ALL the oil from my bike dried out.
Raised voice and threats of complains to Bajaj did the job for me :D

At times its just the local dealers who are behind all the misconducts!
But yeah, once you get in contact with officials from the company, they should fix the problem for you.If it doesn't work that way, then the Company is to be blamed.

@dcs

that's' sad to hear sir
but its a common case in bajaj Service department
Pathetic After sales support was the main reason for me Not to Go for Bajaj
however I loved the P200 but i chose FZ16
because Bajaj Bikes needs more maintainence then other bikes
(remember 3 year Bike=bajaj :D IMO)

Dear Mates, I still am not talking about the product Bajaj produces. Its rather the way customers are treated that fumes me. If I could, I would have started calling names to everyone who is in this wrong practice, but I still would refrain.

People in Bajaj Auto dont just seem to care. They are perhaps too arrogant to pay heed to our woes as if we are just pure (Beep)ing creatures.

I just hope, in future anybody who walks into a Bajaj showroom has enough stamina to face this kind of (beep)ing treatment.

(Beep)ing Bajaj.

An update on the entire issue.

I finally heard from an official from Bajaj Auto. he has looked into the matter and has agreed to refund the 475 Rs. wrongly charged. As for the Rs. 405 charged towards Log Charges, he gave me an explanation which is still all not-so-clear. Hence the gentleman has asked for some time to get back with the required information.

Just as I was thinking that I am through with the ordeal, I was taken aback by yet another horrifying incidence with Bajaj.

The bike, few days ago met with an accident and hence needed repairs. Tired and frustrated with Thugga Links, I decided to take it to some other dealership, hence called up Swadeshi Autos on 65108108 and then on 65108109. But No Answer!!!!

Then I called up on 25444555. After going through the IVR, I punched 20 to speak to the operator. I was greeted by a lady to whom I asked my call to be transferred to the store department. The call was sent over to the store department but no one answered. I called up again on 25444555, again asked for the stores, again the call was transferred again no one answered.

I again called up, spoke to the Lady to transfer the call to Stores. This time, she transferred the call to god knows what extension/department. A lame voice answered the call- I asked for stores, he said- Hold Karo, transfer karta hoon. Again, the call was sent over to the store department where no one answered it.

Finally, I called up again on 25444555, asked the lady to transfer the call to The Manager. She transferred the call, and a very disinterested voice answered- Hallo!
Me: Is this the manager?
He: Kaun bol raha hai?
Me: I want to speak to the manager.
He: Hold karo.
( some other gentleman now comes on the line)

Me: Is this the manager?
He: Haan, kyu?
Me: Can I please get your name?
He: Naresh. Kyu?
Me: Naresh Ji, yaa to aap log buzy bahut hain, ya fir aap log kaam nahi karma chahtey!
He: kahan say bol rahey ho? Media say?
Me: Kya matlab?
He: Media say bol rahey ho? Kya kaam hai?

I was taken aback, is this the way a Manager is supposed to be on phone? Perhaps, like us all, he too lacked the basic telephone etiquettes. So,
Me: Can I talk to your senior?
He: Kyu? Kya baat karni hai?
Me: Jo bhi baat karni hai, un say he karoonga.
He: Meujhey  batao.
Me: Sorry, aap meri line transfer kareingey?
He: Yahan pay mujh say bada koi nahi hai.
Me: Ok, apnay boss say baat karao fir.
He: Mujhsay baat karni hai to theek nahi to g#%$ mara!

I could not take it any further and hence hung up.

Now, I have started wondering if there is something terribly wrong with me, or are the People associated with Bajaj rowdy to the maximum.

I am sure, even if Bajaj is the last manufacturer on earth, I wont buy a Bajaj Bike. Bajaj Sucks big time.

No cheers for Bajaj
