Vehicle Make: Pulsar
Model type: 200
Year of Mfg:2009 - july
Kms run :8300 km
last service done at 7000 km
Query - Dear venkat sir, here is a list of problems i am facing with my bike now -
1) THe pick up. it hardly feels like a P200... its acceleration has reduced greatly... feels like as though it is a P150. Can i do tappet adjustment to get back its former punch? please do suggest me how i can get it back to its former glory
2)Handle and Fork - whenever i brake hard, the handle vibrates ever so slightly...and the front wobbles a bit
3) Engine noise... i think my P200 has more engine noise than the others i've seen... any specific reason for this? it has been running on a litre of Motul 300v from the past 3000km... Is the 1 litre insufficient ?
Also i happen to stay in bangalore, BSK - 3rd stage, so would it be easier if i bought my bike to service at Auto service ?
And i would be more than happy to receive suggestions from other P200 owners who may have experiecned similar problems

The Front forks problem u mentioned is nominal.......adjust the bike fork play......you might even need to get it replaced "fork Cone".....this is a common problem for P200.....
Engine accelaration can be sorted with tappet settings......you can even try to set the carburettor on speed settings instead of average settings....the oil wch u are using is perfect....it is advised not to change the brand often....STICK TO ONE BRAND ONLY.....

@e.sarpotdar
Also i forgot to mention " tak tak" sonds from the fork adn handle whenever i travel over bumps or brake..
Do you think replacing the cone set and adjusting fork play could resolve all these issues?
Have you done or know anyone who has done tappet settings to get back the original pick-up? could you please elaborate on this process ?

Drop in acceleration could be due to various reasons.
One top of the mind recall considering your usage is the possiblity of the slide not moving freely inside the carb. This tends to drop the acceleration as well partially impact the fuel economy of the bike.

The fork might have gone loose or have been damaged in the process too. The steering races (Cones) need to be tightened & the free movement of the handle bar checked before looking for other options.

you need to fill in 1.15ltrs of oil. please look into the same.

The issue is more predominant in cases where the bikes hit pot holes / road cuttings / obstacles of sorts at high speeds. It is also evident in cases where riders do wheelies / stopies etc...

Brands define perceptions, however the oil specs define performance
