Anyways scoots are considered to be a slow market and everyone is jumping into the 'power scoot' bandwagon. This is a pleasant change, but will it survive this time around?

buddy due to hero n honda colabration hero dint have the right for their own RnD, and since that is ending this year, it could very well be the turning point for hero as anybody will wish to join hands with them and they can even have their very own RnD and if that happens its game on next year with the number of bikes being launched could go seriously high and with affordable pricing and good quality as well.. already hero is working on a 400cc diesel which is currently undergoing ARAI testing and it could seriously prove a game changer because if that comes it will definitely have hell lot of torque as well as more power.. so dont under estimate hero, it could very well be the last man(co) standing..

Hero Group working on a 400cc diesel bike for India
I shall be keeping my eyes open for this bike. The 400cc Deisel just might be the kind of bike i might go for, looking at the current petrol prices. I understand that the Deisel prices will also shoot up correspondingly, but it is still more economical. my best guess is that it could give a mileage of 86kmpl. A car like the Logan can give 29kmpl (as told to me by an owner from office), which i guess has a 1.2L engine (Correct me if i am wrong), so a 400cc with lesser weight should give like 29?3=87kmpl at the least. which coupled with the low price of deisel will be a whooping savings.

wont give 86 but even if it gives 50 to 60 that's more then enough because diesel is cheaper by almost 22 bucks / liter..

fitted with a German made 350cc direct injection HATZ 1B30 Diesel engine. With 1:22 compression, electric start and good cold start performance this bike is just the thing if you aim to travel on the cheap with fuel consumption at 170 m.p.g.

The Sooraj Automobiles of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradeshr, a company of India, offered this Motorcycle to the world in 1992 promising 86 km per Litre of Diesel. Using the trusty Royal Enfield frame it used a Lombardini engine.

It is of 547cc and produces between 16-18 BHP.
The bike clocks 156 MPG @ 40MPH
(251kms/3.78Ltrs = 66Kmpl)
and 184 MPG @ 30MPH
(296Kms/3.78Ltrs = 78Kmpl
Hero group would be wise to get their 400cc Diesel in the following configuration
400cc
Inline-2Cylinder-2stroke with 180?crank angle (will give more power per revolution, and reduce flywheel size)
6speed gearbox
Turbocharger
Oil / water cooled engine
CRDI system
ZMR type Sports Tourer position
22 to 25Ltrs fuel Tank
Catalytic Converter in Exhaust
Fat Tires (for once listen to me Hero Group PLEASE)
LED Headlights. Angel eyes will be an added improvement
If only wishes were horses [sigh]

72kmpl..?? :-o man that's hell awesome.. my cbr plans just went into air..
and with today's tech and the latest fi, that can be achieved easily then..
just hope that its reliable and it will seriously hit and hit hard to its competetion.. and if that's the case i am ready to own a 200cc diesel as well because more power is worthless anyway on Indian roads and torque will be there just in case i do need some bit of power..
