2025 Kia Seltos Gets Minor Updates for the US Market

The 2025 Kia Seltos arrives in US showrooms with a focus on enhancing convenience features, particularly for higher trims. While not a major overhaul, these revisions aim to keep the Seltos competitive in the compact SUV segment.

The most significant changes are seen in the EX and top-of-the-line SX trims. These variants gain both a Parking Distance Warning system for reversing and a Smart Power Liftgate, adding a touch of luxury and practicality. However, it’s important to note that these features are only available on the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) versions of the EX trim.

Strategic Feature Adjustments Across Trims

Kia has opted for a strategic approach to the 2025 update. Recognizing the Seltos’ recent facelift, they’ve implemented minor revisions rather than a complete redesign. This translates to new standard features across the entire lineup, along with some targeted improvements for specific trims.

EX Gains a Sunroof Option, S Loses a Screen

The mid-range EX trim receives a welcome addition: a Sunroof package, previously unavailable. However, the base S trim experiences a surprising downgrade. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, present in the 2024 model year, is replaced with a smaller 4.25-inch unit in the 2025 iteration.

Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged

The 2025 Seltos retains its familiar engine options. The standard 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine delivers 146 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.3 seconds with Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and 10.1 seconds with AWD. For those seeking more power, the SX and X-Line trims offer a 1.6L turbocharged engine generating 195 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque. This setup has an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD, achieving a 0-100 km/h time of 8.4 seconds.

Pricing Holds Steady

Seltos maintains a similar price range as its predecessor. The starting price sits at USD 25,090 (approximately Rs 20.4 lakh) and extends to USD 31,090 (approximately Rs 26 lakh) for the top-of-the-line trims.
