Ather Energy Accelerates Growth with New Manufacturing Plant in Maharashtra

Ather Energy, the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, announced plans to establish its third manufacturing facility in Bidkin, Maharashtra. This strategic expansion aims to meet the growing demand for electric scooters and streamline logistics across the country.

A Step Closer to Customers

The new plant will manufacture electric scooters and battery packs in the Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. This addition complements Ather’s existing Hosur, and Tamil Nadu facilities, dedicated to vehicle assembly and battery production, respectively.

“Since 2021, our Hosur facilities have been our national hub,” said Mr. Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO at Ather Energy. “However, with our expanding product portfolio and increasing demand, we’re strategically diversifying production to better serve more markets in India. This new plant will not only rationalize logistics costs but also expedite deliveries to our customers.”

Maharashtra Welcomes Ather

The Maharashtra government has been actively promoting electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis stated, “This aligns with our vision to strengthen India’s EV ecosystem. We are happy to welcome Ather to Maharashtra, solidifying our position as a leading automotive and manufacturing hub.”

Ather’s Expanding Footprint

As the demand for electric two-wheelers surges, Ather is scaling up its operations across the country. The company currently boasts over 200 experience centers and a robust charging network of over 1900 Ather Grid fast chargers.

Ather offers a diverse range of electric scooters, catering to various needs. Their performance-oriented 450 platform includes the 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex. Recently, they launched the Rizta, a family-focused scooter prioritizing comfort, convenience, and safety.

Looking Ahead

With a commitment to innovation and a growing network, Ather Energy is well-positioned to capitalize on the burgeoning Indian electric two-wheeler market. The new manufacturing plant in Maharashtra marks a significant step forward in its journey to provide clean and sustainable transportation solutions to a wider audience.
