Triumph Celebrates 1st Anniversary: 50,000 Bikes Sold & Anniversary Discounts!

Bajaj Auto Ltd and Triumph Motorcycles are celebrating a significant milestone: the first anniversary of the India-made Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X motorcycles. The success story is marked by over 50,000 units sold across 50 countries worldwide, showcasing the global appeal of these machines.

Manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X have captured the imagination of riders around the world. To commemorate this achievement, Triumph Motorcycles is offering a special anniversary discount of Rs 10,000 on both models until July 31st, 2024. This brings the ex-showroom price of the Speed 400 down to Rs 2.24 lakh and the Scrambler 400X to Rs 2.54 lakh, making them even more attractive propositions.

From Unveiling to Anniversary

Unveiled globally in London on June 27th, 2023, the motorcycles were launched in India shortly after in July. The response was phenomenal, with a staggering 10,000 bookings secured within the first ten days. This highlights the demand for these premium motorcycles in the Indian market.

Enhanced Accessibility for Indian Riders

Bajaj Auto has significantly expanded its Triumph dealership network in India to cater to this increasing demand. From just 15 showrooms, the network has now grown to over 90 dedicated outlets across 70 cities. This expansion ensures greater accessibility for Indian consumers, allowing them to experience the Triumph brand firsthand.

Power and Performance at an Attractive Price

The Triumph 400 range features a 398cc, single-cylinder DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled engine that delivers a punchy approximately 40 bhp and 38 Nm of torque. This powerplant is paired with a smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox. Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X offer an exceptional price-to-performance ratio, making them compelling choices in their respective segments.

Industry Leaders Celebrate Collaboration

Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, of Bajaj Auto Ltd., commented, “The past year has been exceptional for Triumph motorcycles in India. We’ve expanded the network with best-in-class showrooms and actively engaged with customers, showcasing the true Triumph experience. We’re establishing the Modern Classics category, which holds immense potential for riders seeking the perfect blend of style and performance. We’re also delighted that our collaborative efforts with Bajaj Auto are being appreciated globally.”

Mr. Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, UK, added, “Our collaboration with Bajaj Auto has opened doors for the Triumph brand to reach a wider audience worldwide. Together, we’re manufacturing Triumph motorcycles at an unprecedented scale and pace, while maintaining the premium quality and attention to detail that Triumph is renowned for. This winning formula is a key driver behind our success in India and all our markets.”

Strategic Timing for Anniversary Discount

The upcoming launch of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 on July 17th poses a potential challenge to the Speed 400’s dominance. Expected to be the most affordable 450cc offering from Royal Enfield, the Guerrilla 450 will likely be priced at around Rs 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This discount from Triumph strategically positions the Speed 400 as a more well-equipped option within a competitive price range.
