Triumph Daytona 660 Prepares for Imminent Launch in India

The eagerly anticipated Daytona 660 is inching closer to its Indian debut, with bookings officially commencing at dealerships.

Imminent Launch Expected

The commencement of bookings, coupled with motorcycles arriving at dealerships, suggests an official launch announcement from Triumph could be imminent – possibly within a week. The initial launch target of April-May 2024 was pushed back, but the wait seems to be nearing its end.

A Sporty-Touring Evolution

Unveiled in January 2024, the Daytona 660 marks the third motorcycle powered by Triumph’s 660cc inline-triple engine, following the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. While retaining some of the Daytona’s sporty heritage, this new iteration leans slightly towards touring capabilities, making it a versatile option for a wider range of riders.

Power Packed Performance

The Daytona 660 utilizes the same 660cc engine as its siblings but with a boost in power. It pumps out 95 bhp at 11,250 rpm and 69 Nm of peak torque at 8,250 rpm. Triumph highlights that a significant portion of the torque is as low as 3,125 rpm, enhancing city riding maneuverability. Additionally, a brand-new exhaust system promises a sportier sound than its 660cc counterparts.

Design and Technology Blend

The Daytona 660’s design draws inspiration from its predecessor, the Daytona 675, featuring striking twin LED headlights. Offered in three color options internationally, one of which includes a race-inspired “660” graphic, the motorcycle boasts a digital instrument console similar to the Trident 660. This unit features a monochrome TFT LCD screen and compatibility with the optional My Triumph Connectivity System. Modern technology extends to ride-by-wire throttle control and three selectable riding modes – Road, Sport, and Rain – catering to different riding styles and conditions.

Price and Positioning

The expected price tag for the Triumph Daytona 660 in India falls around the Rs 10 lakh mark. With bookings open and motorcycles arriving at dealerships, the official launch announcement seems to be just around the corner. The Daytona 660 promises to be a compelling choice for riders seeking a motorcycle that blends sporty performance with touring comfort.
